Session Fixation — Token Unchanged After Login
session-fixation-check is a high severity check in the
web category, written in python.
Its source is templates/web/session/session-fixation-check.py in
cert-x-gen-templates.
What it checks
Section titled “What it checks”Tests for session fixation by comparing the session token before and after authentication. If the pre-auth token remains valid post-login, an attacker who pre-seeds that token can hijack the authenticated session.
